Zoe’s Flower Foundation, a non-profit organization based in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, has escalated its initiatives to alleviate poverty among the less privileged in rural communities within the nation’s capital. In observance of the New Year and as part of its Founders’ Day celebration, the foundation organized a thanksgiving event at the compound of Chief Danjuma Tanko Anyidadubo, Head of Durumi 2 Community, providing assistance to vulnerable members of the community.
The celebratory occasion included the distribution of clothing items and footwear, along with the donation of food essentials such as rice, spaghetti, noodles, tomato paste, and various seasonings to the residents of the rural community. Additionally, the foundation extended its humanitarian activities to other parts of the FCT.
As part of its ongoing commitment to community welfare, Zoe’s Flower Foundation visited several hospitals in the FCT on New Year’s Day, contributing gift items and cash to patients to support their well-being.
Founder Uchenna Duru-Nwaotule expressed that the NGO has been actively supporting and empowering vulnerable women and children over the past decade. She highlighted the organization’s workshops and training programs designed to enhance the skills and capabilities of women and girls.
Duru-Nwaotule explained, “Our goal is to assist vulnerable girls and women in realizing their full potential, leading productive lives, and making a positive impact in the world. We aspire to eliminate the injustice of poverty and provide the vulnerable with opportunities for a better life.”
Emphasizing the foundation’s primary focus on training women and girls in diverse skills, Duru-Nwaotule outlined a broader mission to help at least one million people nationwide escape extreme poverty.
“We are dedicated to empowering beneficiaries economically, educationally, and vocationally, enabling them to fulfill their ordained potential,” she added.
Chief Danjuma Tanko Anyidadubo, the head of Durumi 2 Community, commended Zoe’s Flower Foundation for its support to the community and recognized its substantial contribution to the development of the girl-child. While expressing gratitude, he encouraged the foundation to continue its impactful work.
The beneficiaries of the foundation’s outreach program, elated by the generosity, lauded Zoe’s Flower Foundation as they received various prizes and cash gifts.
