The Lagos State Police Command has established a 13-member special investigative unit to unravel the enigmatic demise of the renowned Nigerian vocalist, Ilerioluwa Aloba, who was more commonly recognized as Mohbad.
Lagos State Commissioner, Idowu Owohunwa, affirmed on Monday that they possess a distinctive association with INTERPOL, emphasizing their resolve to unearth all individuals connected to Mohbad’s death and bring them to justice to ascertain their degree of involvement.
Last Tuesday, it was widely reported that Mohbad, once a prominent artist under Marlian Records, which is owned by Azeez Faashola, better known as Naira Marley, passed away at the tender age of 27.
Naira Marley, in a heartfelt tribute to his departed friend and artist, expressed that Mohbad was not merely an artist or a label signee but a cherished brother and close confidant. He conveyed these sentiments via his Instagram profile last Friday night, as he personally penned a statement on behalf of the Marlian Record label.
“From the very beginning, we recognized Mohbad as an unstoppable force in the industry. His music illuminated the lives of countless individuals with love and positivity. Mohbad left an indelible mark on all of us with his poignant lyrics, captivating storytelling, infectious smile, and boundless energy. The news of his untimely departure has left an enduring void in our hearts,” read a segment of the statement.
