
Nollywood star Iyabo Ojo, accompanied by a group of her fellow industry professionals, made a resolute entrance into the Lagos Police Command headquarters, united in their pursuit of justice for the late Afrobeats sensation, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, fondly known as Mohbad.
The news of Mohbad’s untimely demise had sent shockwaves through the entertainment world. He had met a tragic end under mysterious circumstances, and his hasty burial in Ikorodu had raised more questions than answers.
The shocking details of his ordeal at the hands of his former record label, Marlian Music, were exposed through various viral videos that inundated social media platforms. These clips showed the young artist being subjected to harassment and mistreatment.
In a bid to seek justice and shed light on the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s passing, Iyabo Ojo took to her Instagram page on a somber Wednesday. In a heartfelt post, she shared a video featuring herself, alongside actress Foluke Daramola and the popular skitmaker KieKie, among others. In this video, they were seen engaged in a passionate conversation with Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, addressing the ongoing investigation into the tragic death of the 27-year-old singer.
In the midst of their discussion with the police commissioner, Iyabo Ojo’s voice was heard articulating their demands, not only for justice for Mohbad but also for other budding artists who had fallen victim to the bullying tactics of the embattled show promoter, Sam Larry, a close associate of Naira Marley.
The singer’s management had recently unveiled their intentions to organize a candlelight procession and a tribute concert in honor of the late artist.
An official post shared on the singer’s Instagram page conveyed the details of these commemorative events, scheduled to occur in Lekki, Lagos, on Thursday, September 21.
The post conveyed their gratitude for the overwhelming love and support they had received from fans worldwide, acknowledging those who had taken the initiative to arrange events in their own communities as a means of showing respect and paying homage to their beloved artist. The message invited everyone to join in and participate in Mohbad’s Candlelight Procession and Tribute Concert.
