The Bank of Industry (BOI) has received accolades at the Sustainability, Enterprise, and Responsibility Awards (SERAS CSR Awards), securing two prestigious recognitions. The awards were presented in the categories of ‘Best Company in Financial Inclusion’ and ‘Most Effective MDA/Parastatal in Sustainable Development.’
BOI’s commendation stems from its commitment to sustainable development, particularly in fostering the growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The bank’s interventions platform, featuring initiatives like NG Cares, MSME Survival Fund, and the State Enterprise Empowerment Programme (SEEP), played a pivotal role in earning these accolades.
Dr. Olasupo Olusi, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of BOI, expressed his gratitude for the recognition. He emphasized that these awards underscore the bank’s dedication to supporting MSMEs and advancing sustainable development in Nigeria. Dr. Olusi reaffirmed BOI’s commitment to integrating sustainable business practices into its operations, aligning with the institution’s strategic objectives.
The SERAS CSR Awards serve as a platform to promote the realization of Sustainable Development Goals in Africa. By recognizing and harmonizing the contributions of private sector entities, government/public sector agencies, and non-governmental organizations, the awards aim to facilitate progress toward set targets.
BOI’s recent achievements add to its success at the SERAS CSR Awards, having previously secured the ‘Best Company in Financial Inclusion’ and ‘Best New Entry’ Awards in 2021, along with the ‘Best Company in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion’ award in 2022. The bank’s consistent recognition highlights its ongoing efforts to make significant contributions to sustainable development and financial inclusion in Nigeria.
