ACO Nigeria, a solar energy firm with roots in Nigeria, has unveiled plans to offer comprehensive energy solutions to the Nigerian energy sector. The announcement was made by Mr. Ayman Azzam, the Nigeria Country Manager, in an exclusive interview in Abuja. The company, known for delivering solar energy solutions globally, expressed its commitment to providing world-class energy solutions tailored to meet Nigeria’s specific needs.
Mr. Azzam highlighted ACO Nigeria’s exclusive partnership with Suntech panels, a prominent global brand in solar panels, spanning over a decade. The company, an expansion of ACO Egypt and ACO Sudan, aims to extend its services and solutions across various sectors in the country, particularly targeting the government, business, and residential sectors. He emphasized that the company’s primary focus includes the supply of solar panels and project development, with a dedicated engineering department capable of addressing engineering challenges in projects of varying scales.
During a recent dinner event at the Transcorp Hilton Abuja, the country manager officially announced the company’s launch in Nigeria, outlining its programs and activities. He disclosed that although ACO Nigeria has a longstanding presence globally, its formal entry into Nigeria marks its preparedness to operate within the country. He further mentioned existing partnerships with Nigerian companies, groups, and individuals in various business sectors, emphasizing the company’s openness to collaboration.
In addition, Mr. Azzam revealed ongoing partnerships with JAIZ bank to address financial challenges associated with initiating solar energy projects. He explained, “The initial capital for our projects is relatively high compared to other energy sectors like diesel generators. The major obstacle to implementing our energy solutions is usually the initial capital. So, we are partnering with JAIZ bank to provide financial solutions for most of our projects.”
