The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has reported that there has been a temporary improvement in water supply in the southern part of Gaza. With the assistance of UNICEF and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), small quantities of fuel from existing reserves were delivered to key facilities. This fuel is crucial for operating water pumps, as fuel remains restricted by Israeli authorities. However, it’s important to note that the available fuel in these facilities is expected to be depleted soon, and the supply of piped water is anticipated to be disrupted once again. The Gaza Strip has been grappling with a long-standing water shortage, and the situation remains challenging.
