President Muhammadu Buhari, with only 38 days left in his two-term presidency, asked for forgiveness on Friday from those who may have been hurt by his actions during his administration. During a Sallah homage paid to him by FCT residents led by the Minister, Mohammed Bello, he thanked Nigerians for tolerating him and praised democracy as the best form of government. He recalled his journey to the presidency and its frustrations, including being incarcerated for three years after the coup that ousted him from power in August 1984. Despite losing three previous election attempts, he expressed gratitude for the Permanent Voters’ Card (PVC) technology which helped him win the presidency.
