Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), has officially winged 12 combat pilots, urging them to leverage their training and contribute effectively to sustaining successes in the country’s various theatres of operations. The graduation and winging ceremony took place at the 403 Flying Training School (FTS) in Kano during the Basic Flying Course-20. Air Marshal Abubakar emphasized the Nigerian Air Force’s (NAF) commitment to independent and joint operations against criminals while acknowledging the importance of injecting new and vibrant pilots to enhance operational efficiency. The Air Chief noted that the graduation of the Basic Flying Course 20 would help bridge the current pilot deficiency gap. He reminded the newly winged pilots of the fluid and unpredictable security environment, urging them to strive for excellence in elevating the NAF to greater heights. Air Vice Marshal Nnamdi Ananaba, the Air Officer Commanding Air Training Command, highlighted that the training aimed to produce pilots knowledgeable about operating new and highly technical platforms, contributing significantly to NAF preparedness for the induction of various aircraft.
