The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has successfully concluded the post-mortem examination of the late musician, Ilerioluwa Aloba, more commonly known as Mohbad. This announcement was made through an official statement posted on the NPF’s social media page on the evening of Thursday, September 21, 2023.
Previously, Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, had disclosed that Mohbad’s remains had been exhumed to facilitate the autopsy.
In their statement, the NPF informed the public of the completion of the autopsy process for Mr. Mohbad and pledged to share the findings as soon as they became available.
Mohbad’s untimely passing last Tuesday prompted inquiries and suspicions, with some pointing fingers at Afeez Fashola, professionally known as Naira Marley, the owner of Marlian Record Label. Additionally, there were disputes among his distant relatives regarding his estate shortly after his demise.
Questions arose regarding the hasty burial of Mohbad in Ikorodu, Lagos, immediately following his death. However, his father clarified that this was in accordance with their family’s Yoruba customs.
Nigerian youths have organized peaceful protests to demand justice for Mohbad, and both the Nigeria Police and Lagos Police Command have committed to investigating his death. Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has also requested the involvement of the Department of State Service (DSS) in the investigation.
