FG calls for ceasefire in Sudan, sets to evacuate Nigerian nationals
The ongoing conflict between the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Sudan has led to civilian deaths and suffering, and the Federal Government of Nigeria is deeply concerned about the situation. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has called for an immediate ceasefire and is in contact with the Sudanese authorities to facilitate the evacuation of Nigerian students and other community members who wish to leave the country.
The Nigerian Embassy in Khartoum has established WhatsApp and Telegram platforms for the students and other Nigerians in Sudan to coordinate and receive regular updates.
