The news was shared by Seun Olaiya, president of the Yoruba movies directors guild, on a WhatsApp platform for filmmakers. This was later confirmed by Abdullahi Abdulrasaq, Managing Director of the popular movie marketing company Corporate Pictures Nigeria Limited, as well as showbiz personality and convener of the Best of Nollywood Awards, Seun Oloketuyi.
