Yesterday, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State advised the church to be wary of politicians who use their congregation for political gains during elections. Speaking at the inauguration of Archdeacon Crowther Memorial Girls School (ACMGS) Road and Adjoining Roads in Elelenwo Town of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Wike stated that some politicians only remember the church during elections to profess their Christian faith. He emphasized that Christianity should be practised consistently from the outset, and the church should identify with those who have always worked with them. Wike thanked the church for its prayers and support during the 2023 general elections, and for persistently drawing his attention to the need to rehabilitate the road leading to ACMGS. He announced a donation of N500m to the school and promised to rebuild internal roads within Elelenwo Town. The governor also commended House of Representative member Kingsley Chinda for his loyalty and recommended him as a dependable political representative. Special Projects Commissioner Deinma Iyalla provided details about the length, width, and drain of the road.
