Ike Ihiala, a Nigerian journalist based in the US, has offered to pay the monthly subscription fee for Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, to maintain his Twitter verification badge.
Following Twitter CEO Elon Musk’s decision to change the platform’s verification system, several users lost their verified status, including Peter Obi. To retain the blue badge, Twitter requires a monthly subscription fee of $8 for its ‘Twitter Blue’ service.
Many users who were unwilling to pay the fee lost their verification badge. In response, Ike Ihiala has volunteered to pay for Peter Obi’s monthly subscription fee to maintain his verification badge.
