According to the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, the Supreme Court has issued 272 judgments thus far in the 2022/2023 Legal Year. In a statement released yesterday to mark the Easter celebration for Christians and ongoing Ramadan for Muslims, Ariwoola urged faithful of both religions to pray for continued peace and tranquility in the country. The judgments were made in typical civil, criminal, and election-related appeals.
Expressing his gratitude to Allah, Ariwoola thanked his fellow Supreme Court Justices and staff for their support and cooperation throughout the legal year, which began in mid-September 2022. He gave special recognition to his fellow Justices for delivering 272 judgments despite immense pressure. He extended warm Easter greetings to Christian faithful and wished the Muslim Ummah a rewarding Ramadan and happy Eid-el-Fitr. The Supreme Court is presently on vacation and will resume later this month.
