Yesterday, the Presidency clarified that President Muhammadu Buhari’s move from the official Presidential residence to the Glass House within the State House in Abuja was a routine procedure for the transitional process. The move was to prepare the official residence for the President-elect, Bola Tinubu. Special Assistant to the President on Digital Communication, Bashir Ahmad, stated that this is a standard rule, where an out-going President vacates the official residence before the inauguration to allow space for the preparation of the building for the in-coming President. After the inauguration, the new President is expected to resume at the State House to start his tenure. Ahmad emphasized that this is not a strange occurrence, but the order of transition. The First Lady, Aisha Buhari, confirmed the move and called for the sustenance of the tradition of the Glass House being a transitional home for the out-going President.
