Protesting students of Adeyemi College of Education disrupted vehicular movement in and out of Ondo town for several hours on Friday, by blocking the busy Ondo/Ore road. The protest was due to the school management’s refusal to address the students’ demands for adequate water and electricity supply in the campus. The students, who gathered on the road and moved to the streets of Ondo, accused the management of neglecting their welfare. Many students used empty buckets and other items to block the highway, illustrating the lack of water in their hostels. They vowed to continue the protest until the management addresses the issue of water scarcity and lack of electricity in the campus. The students expressed dissatisfaction with the management’s treatment of their pleas, despite the high levies they pay. They lamented the management’s insensitivity towards the students’ issues and welfare.
