
According to a statement by the spokesperson of the Ekiti State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Tolulope Afolabi, a 38-year-old man named Ayodeji was among five suspects arrested by the corps for fraud. Ayodeji allegedly used a fake transfer to defraud a phone shop owner of N160,000 while attempting to purchase an iPhone XR. After claiming to have made the payment, he left the store, but the shop owner did not receive the payment and could not reach the suspect. The NSCDC tracked and apprehended Ayodeji in Akure, Ondo State. The other suspects were arrested for drug-related offenses and conspiracy. They were caught selling and using substances believed to be Colorado and ice.
