After the inauguration of the 21 billion naira Presidential Wing of the State House Medical Centre, the First Lady, Aisha Buhari, expressed her belief that Nigerian presidents should no longer travel abroad for medical treatments.
Accompanied by President Muhammadu Buhari and other dignitaries, Mrs Buhari made this statement during the commissioning ceremony of the facility, which is located within the premises of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
She revealed that the concept of establishing the wing was initiated by her six years ago, following her husband’s prolonged medical treatment abroad. Mrs Buhari assured that with the facility now available, Nigerian Presidents and their family members will no longer require treatment overseas. Instead, they can simply bring medical experts to provide assistance within the country.
