
During the First Session of the 24th Synod of the Diocese of Ibadan, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State expressed gratitude to the Diocese of Ibadan, Anglican Communion, for their support and prayers towards the success of his administration and his recent reelection. Makinde, represented by Mr. Bolaji Ayorinde (SAN), the Deputy Chancellor of the Diocese of Ibadan, pledged to do more to move the state forward in his second term and called for continued support and prayers from stakeholders.
The Bishop of the Diocese of Ibadan, Most Reverend (Dr) Joseph Akinfenwa, in his speech, called on the incoming administration of the president-elect, Senator Bola Tinubu, to prioritize governance over politics and to utilize technocrats in development projects that will benefit the nation and its people. He commended Makinde for his achievements in the past four years and encouraged him to continue his developmental efforts in the state.
During the thanksgiving service held at St. Anne’s Church, Molete, Ibadan, Venerable Adewale Sanda urged Christians to be faithful to God and lead by example, emphasizing the importance of winning souls for Christ. Members who served the Diocese in various capacities were also honored with awards of excellence.
