During a press conference on the 30th anniversary of his church, Pastor Alex Adegboye, the founder and Senior Pastor of the Word Alive Ministries International, urged Nigerians and Christians to avoid unrighteousness and impunity. He lamented the prevalence of law-breaking in Nigeria, stating that it has caused the country to lag behind. He added that the solution to this problem lies in imbibing the fear of God and living righteously. Corruption, according to him, has become part of Nigeria’s system and is preventing progress. He emphasized that the spiritual state of Nigeria needs to be addressed to bring about positive change.
The forthcoming anniversary and convention, themed “Kingdom Come,” will be held from April 25 to April 30 at the church premises in Mokola, Ibadan, Oyo State. The convention will include special programs for children, teens, and youths, as well as a film show produced by the Mount Zion Ministry, Encounter Room program, Variety Night, Workers and Ministers conference, and Word session. Pastor (Dr) Sola Akande, chairman of the convention planning committee, expressed optimism that people from all walks of life will attend, including Reverend (Dr) Paul Jinadu, head of the New Covenant Church, Reverend Bola Akin-John of the International Church Growth Ministry, and two southwest governors, among other dignitaries.
