
On Sunday, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo attended the interment of former Attorney General of the Federation, Prince Bola Ajibola, in Abeokuta, where he described the late elder statesman as his role model and mentor. He praised Ajibola’s uncommon integrity, his selfless service to Nigeria, and his commitment to the unity and progress of the nation. Osinbajo also expressed his condolences and offered prayers to the deceased’s wife and children. Other notable dignitaries at the event included former President Olusegun Obasanjo and former Ogun governor, Chief Segun Osoba, while the deputy governor of Ogun, Noimot Salako-Oyedele, was also present. In a special prayer session, Osinbajo recounted his personal feelings and interactions with Ajibola and how the late attorney general’s mentorship helped him in his own career as a lawyer and politician. Ajibola was known for his altruism and dedication to public service, having declined a salary as attorney general and selling his properties to establish Crescent University.
