
During his appearance on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, Mr. Tanko expressed his belief that if the recent drama involving the All Progressives Congress (APC) was not beyond reconciliation, the parties involved should have sought to resolve their issues internally using the procedures outlined in the party’s constitution.
He pointed out that the constitution provides for the removal of the national chairman by a two-thirds majority vote of no confidence at a national convention convened specifically for that purpose. Mr. Tanko argued that this provision has not been invoked and should be considered before any other actions are taken.
Mr. Tanko emphasized the importance of adhering to the party’s constitution and working to resolve disputes internally, rather than relying on external interventions. He urged members of the party to follow the constitution until the courts have given their verdict on the matter.
