The National President of Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), Alh Aliyu Otta – Uthman, has called on the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kwara State Command, Mr Umar Muhammed, to enhance efforts in addressing security challenges within the state. During a courtesy visit to the NSCDC commandant’s office in Ilorin, Otta-Uthman praised the NSCDC for its role in maintaining peace and order. He highlighted the presence of thugs in the community, particularly those who have relocated from neighboring states, and urged urgent measures to curb their disruptive activities. Otta-Uthman pledged the union’s support in combating crime in the Emirate and informed the commandant about the upcoming 58th national conference scheduled for December 25-26, 2023, at the Emir’s Palace, Ilorin, and Afon, the headquarters of Asa Local Government Area. In response, NSCDC Commandant Umar Muhammed emphasized the need for collaboration and encouraged the public to provide useful and credible information to enhance the effectiveness of NSCDC in fighting crime in the state.
