
Spyro, the renowned Nigerian artiste also known as Oludipe Oluwasanmi David, recently disclosed that he resorted to taking a bank loan to fund one of his songs.
In an interview with Cool FM in Lagos, Spyro shared that he obtained a loan to finance his track titled “Funke,” which featured popular artists Davido and Mayorkun. However, despite the notable collaborations, the song failed to meet expectations in the market.
Struggling for three years to repay the loan, Spyro faced challenges as his career took a downturn following the release of “Funke.” He expressed his concerns about whether he would ever regain prominence in the industry.
Spyro emphasized that the absence of a solid structure contributed to the decline in his career. During his tenure with Upfront & Personal, he took out the bank loan to support the production of the song. Subsequently, he found himself burdened with loan repayments, a difficult financial responsibility he fulfilled for approximately three years
