Don hails Nigerian Army in fight against insurgency
In a statement released on Monday, Professor Ojo Ademola, the first Professor of Cyber Security and Information Technology Management in Nigeria, has expressed his admiration for the Nigerian Armed Forces’ efforts in fighting insurgency in the country. He specifically praised the current leadership of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, describing it as top-notch.
Ademola went on to commend the Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor, for his professionalism and unique approach to administration, which has been a masterstroke in the war against insurgents. He also applauded Irabor’s ability to unify the other service chiefs and personnel of the Armed Forces, which has significantly improved their performance.
According to Ademola, the level of synergy among the service chiefs is comparable to that of the most advanced nations in the world. He noted that before Irabor’s appointment as the Chief of Defence Staff, military operations lacked a clear strategic, tactical, and operational frontage, resulting in limited success due to various distractions.
However, since Irabor took over, there has been a clear sense of direction, which has helped to clear out the insurgents and win the war. Ademola stated that the ongoing military operations are currently using an intellectual framework to address security challenges.
