A recent development has shed light on the reason why Kunle Remi, a popular actor who played a major role in Kunle Afolayan’s movie, Anikulapo, was excluded from the African Magic Viewers Choice Award (AMVCA) nominations. According to an insider, Remi was snubbed by the board of jury due to an alleged lack of respect for a senior colleague. This is said to have resulted from an interview he granted an online platform some weeks back, where he claimed that a prominent figure in the industry had attempted to entice him into homosexuality. Many were surprised that Remi was not nominated, despite his significant contribution to the movie which received 16 nominations.
In response to his exclusion, Remi expressed his shock and thanked his fans for their support. He congratulated his colleagues who received nominations and acknowledged their hard work and contributions. On his Instagram page, he shared a video and expressed his gratitude for the love, calls, and messages he received.
