Senate President Ahmad Lawan has emphasized the importance of involving opposition parties in the leadership of the National Assembly to create stability in the legislature. He stated that despite the presence of strong opposition parties in the 10th National Assembly, the opposition cannot take over leadership positions. Lawan made these remarks while speaking to reporters after a Sallah homage to President Muhammadu Buhari in the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Friday. He added that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is a united party, and the opposition parties will work with the APC majority for stability. Lawan stated that the opposition is necessary for constitutional amendments and that the parties need to be on the same page.
